Mitch Lyons is a lifelong resident of Michigan where he was born in 1970 in Ionia. He also lived in Belding and Howell but spent most of his formative years in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he attended Forest Hills Northern High School. Mitch attended Michigan State University on a football scholarship and obtained his degree in General Business Administration in 1992 before continuing his football career in the NFL where he played four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and three with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Upon his retirement from the NFL after the 1999 season Mitch embarked on his career in financial services. He is a member of the Meadowbrooke Group where he and his team focus on planning issues of individuals and business owners in the areas of wealth accumulation, protection and distribution. They utilize strategies involving a combination of investment and insurance products combined with the proper legal structure and accounting principles in order to effectively and efficiently help their clients reach their goals.

Mitch currently resides in Rockford, Michigan with his wife, Angela, and their six children where they are members of River Rock Church. He is heavily involved with coaching youth sports as well as serving on the boards of Mentor 1 and the Wolverine World Wide Belmont YMCA.  He also served as chairman of the West Michigan Sports Awards for 8 years. Mitch enjoys working out, golfing, hunting, and spending time at the family's cottage on Lake Mitchell in Cadillac, MI.
